How to have people gladly pay you $3k-5k

For the knowledge and skills in your head

Read time: 3 min

My friend,

You have $3,000 - $5,000 worth of knowledge and skills in your head or you can learn them fast and then make your knowledge worth that much.

You might think: “No way! That’s stupid!”

That’s a limiting belief that I have to wrestle with as well since I want to start my own business.

It is a limiting belief and not a reality because there are people who charge 2x, 3x, and 5x for their knowledge without tricky schemes and scams.

For example:

Alex Hormozi

He was giving a speech about value creation and wanted to prove his point with a little experiment.

He said that he would sell his book in that room for $1,000 (insane!).

He asked his audience to stand up and stay standing if the book was worth $1,000.

He started adding value.

This is how he did it by saying: “You should buy this book for $1,000 because:

  1. It is a bestselling book written by me

  2. It got 7,704 good reviews

  3. It was #1 in Amazon in the marketing and sales category for 13 straight months

  4. Someone 4x’ed their revenue after reading this book

  5. I will autograph it (he did)

  6. I will put my cell phone in it (he did)

  7. I will work with you on your sales to increase them by 30%-50%”

Etc.

You got the gist!

He kept adding the value, and by the end, almost the majority of the room was standing.

They wanted to buy a $25 book for $1000 (insane!).

In the end, he just threw his book to one of the guys there 😂

He showed the leverage of a better offer.

Dan Koe

This guy provides an insane amount of value for the courses he sells and you can read about it on his website.

He sells so-called “Bachelor’s Degree: Branding & Content” for $499 and “Master’s Degree: Offer & Marketing” for $999.

People gladly buy those (I want to buy it at some point, too).

He made recently around $3.3M a year as a one-person business (insane!)

I hope you can see that it is possible to do.

If you have either knowledge and skills inside your head or desire to learn those fast through online education, you can:

- Make a lot of money

- Enjoy freedom

- Bless those in need.

I hope you have noticed the pattern: you can charge insanely high prices only if you create an offer that feels like and is a bargain.

Wait a minute, but how?

How to create an offer that feels like a bargain

Value Equation from “$100M Offer” by Alex Hormozi

I believe that building a one-person business is the ultimate way to financial freedom.

Everyone should share their knowledge and skills with the price tag on it to help those two steps behind to achieve goals faster.

This way we improve the lives of the masses.

To do that, solopreneurs (or people who run one-person businesses) create offers in the form of products and services.

Then they create content around those and their interests to educate others for free with the hopes that they will also benefit from the paid offer.

They build authority around certain niches.

The best way to do that I think is through YouTube and newsletters (but this is for another article).

Here is how to create that offer and have people want to pay you $3k-$5k:

Step 1: List all humanly possible problems that your customer is going to face.

The first step is simple.

Take the desired outcome that your customer wants to achieve.

List on a piece of paper all possible obstacles they might encounter toward the goal.

Step 2: List all possible solutions for every single problem.

Now, write every and any possible solution next to each problem.

Something you can do to help them to overcome those problems with ease.

When you are doing this exercise think about implementing the two principles below 👇️

Decrease time delay and perceived effort of achieving the dream outcome:

First, determine the dream outcome of your target audience.

What do they want to achieve? What problem are they solving?

Then brainstorm the ways you can shrink the time delay between a purchase and a result and decrease the perceived effort of achieving it.

Here is an example of reduced perceived effort of achieving:

Your customers think they need to pay quite a bit for certain apps to achieve their dream outcome, but you find free or cheaper apps that will help them to start faster.

That way you decrease the perceived effort of achieving the dream outcome.

Get creative with it.

Increase the awareness of the dream outcome and increase the perceived likelihood of success:

You also need to make people more aware of their goals and make them more desirable by painting the picture of their lives with that desired outcome.

You do that through your marketing efforts - content, ads, landing pages, etc.

You should also brainstorm ways to increase the perceived likelihood of success by showing (from your previous clients):

  • Testimonials

  • Ratings

  • Good reviews

One of the most interesting ways to do that is to create conditions for them to have small wins as soon as possible.

They will be more likely to stick with your process which will lead to bigger wins and achievement of the desired outcome.

Win for you and win for them.

Step 3: Eliminate and Build

Eliminate solutions that are:

  • Low value and high cost to you

  • Low value and low cost to you

Pick solutions that are:

  • High value and low cost to you

  • High value and high cost to you

To figure out what value is just look back at the principles above and the value equation at the top of this section.

…ask yourself which of these things will this person:

1) Financially value

2) Cause them to believe they will be likely to succeed

3) Make them feel like they can do it with much less effort and sacrifice

4) Help them accomplish their goal and see the result they want with far less time investment

The big idea that you need to understand:

By creating tremendous value in your offer you can charge premium prices because value will be perceived > than price.

This should be it for today!

Thank you for reading and I hope it was valuable to you.

Time flies and freedom is sweet so get on this opportunity while it’s here.

God bless,

Merdan
